www.eamonns.net - Eamonn's: A great friendly Irish pub and restaurant in Brooklyn Heights New York. The first site I did and now in its second design faze. Regular updates are needed through out the year due to all the activities and seasonal menu changes. This site is completely managed by myself with cooperation with the owners.
A word from the site owner: Money well spent, its paid for itself many times over. The web site was completed on time and works quickly and efficiently. The site has brought new people to our restaurant as well, not only to eat but to take part in the many events we have through the year. Terry Traynor.
www.sandygolfers.com - Holiday villa in Torrevieja, Spain on the Costa Blanca. The owner of this site owns and runs a villa in Spain and asked me to develop a web site for one villa with a view to expanding this site to incorporate more. As you can see it's not just about the villa, we are also trying to establish the villa as a great place for the golfer to base themselves while giving them the best possible information on all the local golf courses and amenities.
A word from the site owner: We had an idea for the web site but didn't really know where to start. Dan helped us source a web host, helped with the base design etc. The big 'win' we found with Dan was he fostered our ideas and grew them rather than dictating his way of working. This enabled us to get a site that we not only liked but understood. We have now started to get bookings through the site, and the feedback is always very positive. We are looking at extending the site to incorporate more apartments. A Mason.
www.golfinnyc.com - Think Of Us As Your Caddie A complete site overhaul and the biggest site I have undertaken so far. There is a lot going on with this site, poor navigation, repeated text entries and a slow download time. My job entails breaking the site down in to all its components and rationalizing the links to make them more manageable. I will also develop a cleaner look for the site and ensure that it downloads faster for the user with 56k dial up.
www.equuscaballus.com - A Horse Blog For All Things Equine A website which just needed a skin. Or should I say a blog that just need a skin. The whole back end of this website is built using php and Mysql. A very simple installation using Wordpress which is downloaded for free and gives you a complete website out of the box. All you have to do is change the look and feel, add content and you are up and running. Designing the skin was easy to do as it only involved changing a few files and manipulating the css file to produce something which I think is clean and simple. It also only took around one week from start to finish. This is probably the cheapest option for anyone wanting a website.
*Note - Since designing the skin for this site I have been asked by the owner to help edit and maintain the site on a regular basis.
www.castnergolf.com - More Than Just Golf Instruction In New Jersey A full site which also involved the design of logos and the setting up of the shop to sell a full line of polo/t-shirts at cafepress.com. The website was created after talking with the owners of golfinnyc.com. As that website went to an information only website about all the public golf courses in New York City it was felt there was a need to have an individual website just focusing on Bill Castner a PGA Master Professional who teaches golf in New Jersey and New York. A very neat and clutter free design that was more than a pleasure to undertake. In addition to the overall design we will be introducing "Video Lessons" to the website during the winter months.
www.www.wlzev.com -The funniest man on the face of the earth and the most modest! If only all the webs sites I design are as easy as this. It was a straight forward copy of Zev's business card. He needed to advertise his talents and contacted me. Zev is intending to add the content as and when he requires and all I did was produce the graphics and the frame work for the web site.
*Note Since finishing this website design I have written a tutorial for Zev so that he can update the site with out having to involve me with the day to day running of this web site. I also designed and sell two t-shirts of Zev's image as part payment for this website through cafepress.com.
www.sandfordstudios.com - A Full Service Video & Photography Studio A new project and another web site re-development. The previous website was starting to look dated so the owner ask me if I would freshen the website up. The design has been agreed and we now take on the long task of regularly adding the various photographic galleries the customer would like to have previewed.
www.lloydgoldsmth.com - Lloyd Goldsmith - Seeks a one one relations ship with urban New York This website already had a great interface and design so we left it as is, but because the website was built using Flash™ it was not search engine friendly. The site was reversed engineered from the original Flash™ files to produce static pages for searching by the search robots.
www.mccarthypgapro.com - K P McCarthy PGA Professional Golfer & Teacher This to is a new design based around Wordpress blogging software. It was also a contact from Bill Castner at CastnerGolf which brought in this client. The site is much the same as the CastnerGolf site as regard to the type of information but we added a blog section for Kieran McCarthy to write his own information. We still have around 8/9 static pages which I edit as and when but most of the website can be changed with-out my input from ourselves which helps to keep cost down. As again I had to install Wordpress and configure the server, email addresses, email forms for this client.
www.kellysnyc.com - New York Sports Bar This new website design is from scratch for a new sports bar opening up in New York City. Not much needed to start with but it involved collecting photographs for the base page design, installation of the website on the server as well as setting up the email forms and email addresses for the client. We have a few more ideas on where we want the site to end up, but as with most things we want to build on a firm foundation and establish the sports bar and website before move on.
www.Ugliphoto.com - Ugli Photo Blog A simple set up for this, one great script (Pixelpost) and one easy themed template and that was it. A download from Pixelpost was set up on the clients preferred server and all I had to do was, change the css style sheet to suit the clients wishes and then move around some of the script to get this little photo blog up and running. If you wanted something similar and used the default theme it could take less than 30 minutes to be up live online.
www.PassportNJGolf.com - Getting a Golf Pass has Just become a whole lot easier Another from the ground up website. All the design and the addition of a blog section was included on this site. We started with a simple set up of only three pages to start and progressed to adding a blog section that will only be updated to coincide with the monthly launch of the off-line newspaper. One item that we also set up was the ability to have a page so viewers could by the golf pass online. This was taken care off using an online shopping cart system.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Project
www.ahomefromhome.org - Property Cleaning & Management Service A new one for me, no website design from scratch but a request for a site with better search engine optimization (SEO). This client already had a website but it was failing to show up in the search engines. Having looked over the site it was clear that the back end coding for the site needed a good clean as there was too much html code and each page required the adding of alt tags for images, page title and description tags, basic file manipulation for better search engine optimization (SEO).
www.lloydgoldsmith.com - Lloyd Goldsmith a New York Artist Not so much a design from the ground up but a redesign of a Flash based website. As with many Flash based website's they struggle for traffic from the search engines. What I did was take the basics and transform the website to a static site that search engines can crawl. This has help the owner gain valuable viewers and potential customers for his art work.
